Do not use belt dressing. Do not use soap. Do not believe the 'factory setting' for belt tension. Wash the soap off ASAP, it is a solvent.
Your belt is probably too tight. Loosen it and see if the squeak stops. As long as it's not slipping, it's not too loose.
